Why do we put up with the stuff we do?
Ok so I talked to a friend I hadn't talk to for awhile today. Reason we haven't talked? Mostly her job. She was telling me about it today. She works at a ice-scream parlor (Didja catch that little joke.) Don't get me wrong, I love ice cream but in her case, working with sugary ice scoops has got her about to scream. The short story is, She works under a manager who is with her "friend". Its a disgrace. The guy lets the girlfriend make all the rules, choose the hours and basically make my friend's job quite difficult. I was telling her to quit but the sad fact is, In two weeks she is going off to college and so, needs the extra cha-ching for any start-up costs on-campus. (You know like the freshmen fee new students have to pay upper class men...I know too many college movies). Its a tight spot and it led me to the inspiration for this blog. Why do we put up with the crap we encounter in this life. Not saying its always bad to do it, we all have our reasons, good and bad. In this example, My friend is stuck. She only has one choice. However, as plentiful as good reasons there are, there are bad reasons too. Like the girlfriend who makes up excuses for the fact that her boyfriend calls her fat or stupid or any type of put down. She'll say she loves him and he is just kidding but I don't see it that way. If thats you, I know you probably love this guy alot but I have a feeling he doesn't feel the same way. A guy who loves you, will think the sun rises out of your arse. If he is treating you like his own perosnal verbal punching bag, dump him. You deserve better. (that goes for you too guys, be man enough to stand up for yourselves.) Well I guess thats my fragmented thoughts for now. Might post again later. Look forward to it? Or don't :)
Going to Les Mis. in Richmond tonight
I know, not a really catchy title for a first post but you clicked didn't you? Yeah Some of the best friends I have are in CYT's (thats Christian youth theater) production of Les Miserables (I think I spelled that right. I used to be in CYT I was in two shoes, Cinderella and Annie. And I would have to say that this is the first play that I am really excited to see for the story AND for my friends in it. And I am hoping to go on Saturday as well, see some CYT-ers I know at the strike party. Anywhoo, stay tuned, I will have much more entertaining blogs in the future. Or at least ones that actually deal with issues. Maybe. Toodles :)
