My friend made this HILARIOUS video on what it is like to be a rookie in a shooting game. LOL.

Rihanna's latest single: Another cry for help.

I've blogged about Rihanna before. The last time I mentioned her was when I took a look at her single "Russian Roulette" which was a single that seemed to dangerously glamorize suicide and, in my opinion, gave the public a window into Rihanna's damaged mind. That opinion has been further strengthened with Rihanna's new single, "S & M". The title of the song is referring to a form of sexual behavior called "sadomasochism". I will try and be as vague as I can about this term since it refers to quite explicit behavior. Basically, it usually involves two individuals. One individual gets pleasure from hurting others (sadism) and the other gets pleasure from being hurt (masochism). In the song, Rihanna sings about this behavior descriptively, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me." However, this is not the first time Rihanna has mixed violence with love. Many might recall her single "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Eminem as well as the recent follow up to that single "Love the Way You Lie Part II" which actually includes Rihanna singing "Maybe I'm a masochist". Those songs undoubtedly displayed a twisted and abusive love/hate relationship. In this recent single, she has gone a step further saying, "Now the pain is my pleasure..." Rihanna seems to still bear wounds from her abusive relationship and is now once again, turning to the public to expose her scars.

A psychologist was recently questioned about "S & M" and what connection it might have to Rihanna's current direction, "Absolutely, there is a link between what you see, what you experience, and then what you choose to do. There's no doubt in my mind that people who have been hurt in the past and particularly, who have been hurt in some way, and then become sexually aroused or not sometimes during but after that event, will more likely chose to engage in that type of harmful or potentially hurtful experience again with someone else."

The psychologist goes onto clarify that there is no way to fully know if this link is present in Rihanna. She claims this is just one video and warns against over-interpreting it. And while I respect her opinion, (She is a psychologist!) I would disagree. I would point to the creative pattern Rihanna has shown with her music. Clearly, this is not an isolated incident. Clearly, Rihanna is on a very dark path and has been for some time. My heart breaks for Rihanna and I pray she gets help before it is too late. I pray she turns to Christ who is truly the only one who can repair these deep wounds left by abuse. And he can do that for anyone who comes to him and asks. May Rihanna's cry for help resemble the Psalmist's cry for help "You are my helper and my deliverer; my God, do not delay."(Psalms 40:17)

Some clarifying notes on feelings...(Cupidity Excerpt)

Some clarifying notes on Feelings: (Derived from the book Cupidity by Hayley and Michael DiMarco.)

Love in its genuine form requires a complete focus not just on the wants of the other person but also on their mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual needs.

The things you’ve encountered in your love life will naturally color your feelings about the subject and thus your further experiences with it.

Feelings ---even those nasty ones you push down and try to bury in the musty recesses of your heart, promising you’ll never recall them again—have a major impact on your love life.

Feelings are often the first line of defense for your heart. They are often focused inward, like guards marching back and forth to ward off attack from anything that might injure or steal your heart. But they’re also always keeping a lookout for hope, pleasure, and joy. By definition, a feeling is any partly mental, partly physical response marked by pleasure, pain, attraction, or repulsion. And so often, your feelings either draw you to something or someone, or push you away. Whether you are experiencing an amazing feeling or a horrific one, it will be sent to your brain as an alert, along with a strong recommendation for the next course of action based on its assessment of the situation.

In order to get you to act, feelings often disguise themselves as reason and thought. They defend their case based on how many times they’ve been experienced and how strong the previous experiences were. Even for those of us who deny our feelings or have learned to somehow shut them off, feelings will still go to extreme lengths to manage situations and future experiences. That is why many abuse victims have no memory of past abuse but continue to be affected by it, if only on a subconscious level. Feelings are a powerful force in the life of every human being and even the lack of emotion is a force that can affect all your actions and reactions to the world around you.

Whether you revel in your emotional life or deny it, you feelings need to be embraced so they can be experienced for what God made them to be and yet guarded to manage the powerful impact they can have on your reason and actions (Proverbs 4:23).

What you feel comes from what you believe.

And for the Christian, what you feel ultimately stems from what you believe to be true about God and his Word, as well as the role God’s Word plays in your life. In every situation, you must first run your reactions and emotions by the Word of God. When you do, you will know whether your feelings on a matter can be trusted. Your feelings must have a foundation in faith; only then can they be experienced to their fullest without sin.

Till next time kids...It's twiggy.

Short but Important.

Hey guys,
I know I haven't posted in awhile and I apologize. I hope to post something about adoption soon. I felt I needed to post a recent video that surfaced. I really don't have much to say other than this should convince everyone who watches it that planned parenthood is a grotesque organization that needs to be defunded.
